A calm starting assessment of knowledge, technique and confidence. I look for what a child knows, what they avoid and how they think under a little pressure.
Teach it properly
Clear explanation and carefully chosen or original material, rather than endless untargeted papers. Every lesson is built around what that particular child needs next.
Show parents what comes next
A short recap, purposeful practice and an evolving idea of where the child needs support. You will know what improved, what still needs work and what to do before the next session.

About Damian
I am Damian Fearon, a qualified teacher with QTS. I have been teaching since 2013 in UK and Australian schools, including Sacred Heart and Alexandra Primary in Kingston. I have classroom experience across primary year groups and have served as Computing Subject Lead.
I started ClassAce because I kept seeing families drown in generic practice papers with no clear plan. Entrance exam preparation does not need to be that way. When lessons are built around the child and the schools they are actually targeting, practice feels less forced and progress follows.
I have experience supporting children with a range of academic and emotional needs, including SEN, EAL, Pupil Premium learners and children who have lost confidence. The same worksheet does not work equally well for every child — so I write them individually.

A 50-minute lesson

Each lesson is 50 minutes. It includes focused individual teaching, prepared materials and clear next steps. Where appropriate, the final few minutes are used to recap the lesson and discuss what comes next.
